和歌山県生まれ 東京都在住 慶應義塾大学卒業
2010年 英語通訳として、会議、商談、展示会、アテンドなど幅広い分野で働く一方 庭のばらを撮影したくて写真を始める
2014年 デジタルカメラのRAW現像に必要な色表現を学ぶために中判フィルムも撮り始める
2015年 第11回「美しい風景写真100人展」にて富士フィルム会長の古森重隆賞を受賞
この年から、アイスランドに魅せられてたびたび撮影のために訪れる
2016年 隔月刊「風景写真」誌フォトコンテストにて切磋琢磨の末、年度賞受賞。組写真の部にて2016年度 最優秀作家賞受賞
北海道東部中心に撮影活動中。大自然の織りなすフォルム、働く人々や野生動物を含む風景写真を撮り続けている
ライブラリーで写真販売
2019年 東京ミッドタウンのフジフイルムフォトサロン東京で写真展 「ＩＣＥＬＡＮＤ 最果てのドラマ」を開催。大阪、名古屋と巡回展
同時に「カメラと旅するアイスランド」を出版 ( 共に、駐日アイスランド大使館後援 アイスランド航空協賛 )

Chronicles and Prizes
• ～2010 worked as an interpreter (English - Japanese), special field: conference, business meeting, exhibition, food fair, etc.
• 2010 started to learn photography to take pictures of the roses in garden.
• 2014 started to use film camera to improve the color expression of my photographs
• 2015 prized as one of the 3 best Film Photographers by the Fujifilm CEO. Started taking pictures in Iceland and became an enthusiast of Icelandic untouched nature
• 2016 prized as the Best Photographer of the year by the Japanese “Landscape Magazine” (Fukeishashin) in the category of series photos
• 2019 February, Photo Exhibition “ICELAND --Scenery at the Farthest End--” At Fujifilm Photo Gallery Tokyo.
Book, “Photographer’s Guide to Iceland” was published. Both were supported by Iceland Embassy and Iceland Air.
• 2020 Working as a leader of " Iceland Photography Workshop by Sawako Minami "
Member of Japan Professional Photographers Society.
• 2022 Photo Exhibition "And Iceland Again" was held at NINE GALLERY at Kita-Aoyama,Minato-ku,Tokyo. Three big-sized pictures are displayed at the banquet floor.
